Barrier 1st Yamaha and 5th in the championship

The 2009 season of the FIM Cup Superstock 1000 ended in Portugal on the Portimão track with a seventh position for Sylvain Barrier, and he finally finished in the fifth position of the championship. Julien Millet was 23rd.

In the beginning of the race, Sylvain was sixth for a while, then climbed to the fifth spot, and finally finished seventh. It was not as brilliant as his three podiums in Assen, Misano and Magny-Cours, but still it allowed Barrier to get back in fifth position overall with 92 points in the standings. His result is the best one of the many Yamaha R1 riders who entered this championship and for that the team owner Michel Garnier was congratulated by Yamaha Motor Europe.

For the rookie year of the team, we can say this is and interesting and satisfying result. See you in 2010 for some news adventures!

Sylvain Barrier: “I had an average start. I was a little bit stressed before the race. I couldn’t stay with the leading group. Thank you to the team. The overall result of this season is positive, especially for a rookie team. We had everything to obtain a good result, the team had nothing missing.”
