After a brilliant Friday, when Sylvain Barrier was in second position, Saturday was a bit disappointing for the team.
With his new set of tyres, Sylvain had trouble with the front of the bike and he could qualify only in ninth position.
Happily, there is the warm up session to find what the problem is and the best possible solution for Barrier to do a good race.
Michaël Savary progressed from the Friday practice and he went faster and faster. He qualified finally in 14th position, which is not bad considering that he doesn’t know very well yet his new BMW.
Michel Garnier (team owner): “I am not satisfied. It started well, until we changed the tyres and the suspension. We were in second position just before that, but we will start from the third row tomorrow. That doesn’t make me happy. Michaël does very well. For his first race with this bike, he is in a good position.”
Sylvain Barrier: “In the beginning of the session, there were a lot of riders on the track. I checked my settings and we changed the tyres. After we did that, the front was bouncing when I was entering the curves. I was bouncing also on the bumps.”
Michaël Savary: “We modified a little bit the fork to have a better feeling with the front. I was more at ease. With the new tyres, I was about 1 second faster. It’s difficult for me to give it all during the qualifying sessions. I am happy with my time. I will try to finish in the top 8 tomorrow. The bike progressed well during there two days.”
