Barrier will start 5th

On a wet track, the riders of the Superstock 1000 FIM Cup could not go faster than the day before. Sylvain Barrier will start from the 5th position on the starting grid and Randy Pagaud from the 23rd.

There were many little showers at Imola all day long and the grip was very bad. In these conditions, the times were made on Friday and they will be used for the starting grid. The riders were of course frustrated because there were no possibilities for them to improve their performances.

For this coming Sunday, the weather forecast is good and everything should be OK for a great day of racing.

Michel Garnier (team owner): “It was good, a nice qualification. The times were the ones from Friday, but the bike is good. We had some small electrical problems. Tomorrow, we need a good start. We are looking for a podium. Randy had some vibration problems with the front wheel. I am very happy. Congratulations to Jeremy Guarnoni for his 600 title and to Florian Marino for his victory.”

Sylvain Barrier: “The afternoon was like the morning, half dry and half wet. The double hander was very wet, which made it difficult because it’s fast. I missed a bit the front in a curve and I went too wide. I rode in the dirt and I lost the front because the wheel was dirty. After that we changed the rear tyre, but it was not possible to go as fast as on Friday.”

Randy Pagaud: « In the morning, I was confident, even if the track was half wet. I learned to ride the bike in the conditions. In the afternoon, I was still confident, careful to stay on the racing line. I was not very far from the top riders. It was a difficult day because of the conditions.”
