Barrier in 5th position

It was a good qualifying practice session today for Sylvain Barrier, with the fifth place.

There was a good progression over the two days of practice, and Sylvain will start tomorrow from the second row. The settings of the S 1000 RR are better and better. There is still some work to do but it is getting really close.

Ayrton Badovini (BMW) was the fastest in front of Lorenzo Zanetti (Ducati). Maxime Berger (Honda) qualified in third with Antonelli (Honda) in fourth. The weather has been very nice so far at the Nürburgring and the forecast is pretty good for tomorrow.

The race will be broadcasted live on Eurosport 2.

Michel Garnier (team owner): “We are on the second row, so it will be important to have a good start. We have a good position on the starting grid. We must stay on the inside in the first curve. It is important not to be pushed on the outside in turn 1.”

Sylvain Barrier: “The motorcycle progressed well after the morning session. The gearing was much better in the afternoon. The fork feels better, especially in the upper end. I stopped in the box after 3 laps to change the tyres. Then I did consistent laps. I tried to go faster, but somebody blew up his engine and there was oil. On the bumps, the rear is reacting too much. The front is too soft. It will be OK tomorrow.”
