Barrier on the first row

Magny-002

Sylvain Barrier will start tomorrow from the first row of the Superstock 1000 FIM Cup race, with Xavier Simeon, Maxime Berger and Ayrton Badovini. His team mate Julien Millet will start from the 7th row, with the 25th qualifying time.

The timed practice session went pretty well for Sylvain. For a while, he was from 6th to 8th in the standings, but he did a very brilliant last lap that put him in fourth position.

It was more difficult for Julien Millet who had to change bike today after his crash yesterday. The spare bike being a little bit different, Julien had to adjust himself to it and he could not be as fast as he was hoping. But for sure he will improve tomorrow during the race.

Sylvain Barrier: “I started the qualifying session with new tyres and I immediately did good time just to make sure. Then I did 5 or 6 laps before I stopped. When I started again, I wanted to follow a fast rider. I was not quick enough in the curves. Then I did my fastest lap in the last 2 minutes. Tomorrow it should be OK.”

Michel Garnier (team manager): “Sylvain Barrier did very well. His fourth position is perfect. This is the first row. We hope that tomorrow everything will be fine during the race. Julien Millet will start from the back of the grid. He should be able to finish in the top 20, maybe in the top 15. It is not easy for him.”
