Barrier seventh
In the first timed practice session, Sylvain Barrier qualified in seventh position. He is on the second row of the provisional starting grid.
The fastest rider today was Maxime Berger, in front of the FIM Cup leader Ayrton Badovini. Andrea Antonelli finished in third position.
Sylvain went faster and faster all day long. Of course, it is never easy to find quickly the right set up on a track that you are discovering for the first time. But his is true for all the Superstock teams.
Michel Garnier (team owner): “I am happy and confident. We had to start with a motorcycle that was completely rebuilt after the frame was broken at Brno. The settings here are completely different. Sylvain had a little problem with the shifter, quickly fixed, and everything went well.”
Sylvain Barrier: “This morning I started with the Brno set up and it was not so good. The bike was sitting too much on the rear. We changed a few things for the qualifying session and I was immediately faster. We put a new tyre with 5 laps to go. We still have some work to do, but I am confident.”
