Good practice on the wet

The track of Misano was very wet and the riders had a very small experience of the BMW and the Pirellis in these conditions. But the three riders of the Team Garnier alpha Racing did pretty well in these difficult circumstances.

Markus Reiterberger finished this wet practice in ninth position, Beau Beaton in tenth and Randy Pagaud in eleventh. This could not change the results of the Friday qualifying session, but it was a good indication of the level of the three riders on the wet.

The Ducati kept their leadership of the previous day, with Danilo Petrucci in front of Davide Giugliano. The BMWs of Reiterberger, Beaton and Pagaud will start tomorrow from the 17th, 22nd and 28th positions on the starting grid. Normally, the sun should be shining tomorrow on the Adriatic coast.

Michel Garnier (team owner):Friday went well even our three riders didn’t know the track. Overall Saturday was also good. Beau did well with his injured knee. He was careful not to go over his limits. It was not easy on the rain for our three riders but they did a good job. They rode with courage when it was very wet. They were 9th, 10th and 11th in the rain. This is positive and we move forward, little by little. Markus is a very good rider and Randy and Beau are doing well. Congratulations to them and to the whole team.”

Markus Reiterberger: “Free practice in the morning was OK. We changed something on the bike that was not good yesterday. Today it was better, but in the second session it started raining. My seventeenth position was safe from yesterday so I did only a few test laps. It was OK. I hope it will be sunny tomorrow.”

Beau Beaton:It was OK. We made a bit of a step forward this morning in the dry from yesterday. It was on old tyres and I was pretty happy with that. This afternoon it was my first time on the BMW and the Pirellis in the wet. Also I have an injury, so I had to be cautious. I wanted to get a bit of a feel with the bike and the tyres characteristics in the wet. It has been good this weekend.”

Randy Pagaud: “This morning we rode with a good temperature, it was not too hot. Too bad that it rained this afternoon because I was faster this morning than during the qualifications yesterday. I was 0.6 quicker. This afternoon, the track was slippery and three of four riders crashed during the first lap. Besides that, the 10th time on the wet and our three riders altogether, this is well done.”
