Barrier 10th and Black 23rd

With 36° Celsius on the Misano track, it was very difficult for the riders to do a good performance.
The track was too hot for that (53°C) and the lap times were not even close to what they were last year.
The good news for tomorrow is that the temperature is supposed to be lower.
The bad news is that there is 80% chance of very heavy rain!

Sylvain Barrier was 10th and Gregg Black 23rd. The fastest man on the track was Maxime Berger (Honda) in front of Davide Giugliano (MV Agusta) and Michele Magnoni (Yamaha).

Gregg Black: “This session was OK. I have not been riding since the Nürburgring three weeks ago. I don’t know this track with a 1000 cc bike, so I had to find my braking marks. I took it easy. We started to work on the settings. It was super hot! Something really crazy when you are on the bike. My goal for tomorrow it to get in the top 15.”

Sylvain Barrier: “Too hot! The tyre performed well during two laps and then it went worse. We modified the fork, but unfortunately we took off too much oil from it. I did only one lap at the limit. It was difficult, because we couldn’t test everything we wanted to. We know in which directions we must go. We’ll see if it rains tomorrow.”

Michel Garnier (team manager): “It was a good session. There is no reason for us to worry. Sylvain Barrier rode well. Gregg Black progressed with regularity. It was necessary today to do a good time in the beginning of the session. We shall see tomorrow what the weather forecast will be.”
