Reiterberger in the top 10

After the qualifying practice sessions, Markus Reiterberger positioned himself at the ninth place on the starting grid.  Randy Pagaud was sixteenth while Beau Beaton qualified in nineteenth.

Markus Reiterberger was hoping to start on the second row of the grid and he came very close to do so with the ninth spot only one little thousandth of a second from the eight position. Randy Pagaud confirmed the good practices he did on Friday with the sixteenth time, which will allow him to start from the fourth row. Beau Beaton, who had a hard time during the qualifying session yesterday because of a crash, qualified nineteenth. He will start tomorrow one row behind his French team mate.

Danilo Petrucci (Barni Racing Team) was the fastest of the qualifying sessions on his Ducati, in front of the S 1000 RR of Lorenzo Zanetti (BMW Motorrad Italia Superstock). The first row of the starting grid is completed by the Ducati of Davide Giugliano (Althea Racing) and Niccolò Canepa (Lazio MotorSport). Sylvain Barrier (BMW Motorrad Italia Superstock) is fifth.

There are great hopes for the three riders of the Team Garnier alpha Racing. Markus Reiterberger should get a good result if he has a good start. Randy Pagaud and Beau Beaton can hopefully score some points.

Michel Garnier (team owner):I am very happy with our qualifying. The performance was good. The times were very close. Our three riders and all the team worked well. I hope that tomorrow they will have a good start and they will stay with a good group. Randy is with two or three fast riders so it should be good. Markus must have a good start and maybe possibly stay with Zanetti. It is important that they score points. Until now, it’s a good weekend and everything goes well.”

Markus Reiterberger:In the second free practice session, I tried some new gearing but I didn’t have a good feeling. So I went closer to the one I had yesterday and it was OK but in the last sector I lost one second but I don’t know why. Tomorrow in the warm up I will try some other lines. I hope to start good and do a good race.”

Randy Pagaud:This morning I was not as fast as yesterday because of old tyres and a little chassis problem. This afternoon I started with used tyres and I was immediately faster than yesterday. After that I started a 5 lap run with new tyres and I did a good time. It’s my best qualification of the year. I will try to stay with the group that includes Guarnoni to score some points.”

Beau Beaton:The session was good. We made a step backward in the first session this morning. This afternoon we put a new tyre and we went much faster. In the warm up we’ll try something else. I am happy with the way the team is working and it should be OK.”
