Reiterberger on the front row

Markus Reiterberger did some very good qualifying practice and he will start tomorrow from the fourth position on the starting grid. This is an excellent result for this young 17 years old rider and it gives the team good reasons to be hopeful for the race on Sunday.

Markus confirmed his regular progression, joining the cream of the category and even being in front of fast riders like Lorenzo Baroni (Althea Racing Ducati), Niccolò Canepa (Lazio MotorSport Ducati) and Lorenzo Zanetti (BMW Motorrad Italia). So he will be tomorrow on the first row with Danilo Petrucci (Barni Racing Team Ducati), Davide Giugliano (Althea Racing Ducati) and Sylvain Barrier (BMW Motorrad Italia).

Beau Beaton had a difficult Friday, but Saturday was much brighter for him. He finished twelfth, which is best ever qualifying position.

Randy Pagaud did a good job too, only 2 seconds from the pole position, which is nice knowing he had some electronic problem. All of this is very promising for the race on Sunday.

Michel Garnier (team owner):The practice sessions have been positive for us. Reiterberger is on the front row with the fourth time. He did a great job. We start from the front row and everything is possible. Beau was twelfth fastest and for him it’s positive because it’s the first time he has such a good position. He fought well, tried hard and I am happy. Randy was fifteenth yesterday but today he had some electronic problem. If he starts well tomorrow, he can score some points. Thank you to the team who worked very well and to our sponsors. We are on the front row and this is very good.”

Markus Reiterberger:Today was OK. I could do 2′04.0 laps and it felt good. But my time from yesterday was unbelievable, and it was not possible to go faster today because the grip was so low because of the hot weather. I hope I have a good start tomorrow and can do fast laps again.”

Beau Beaton:Today was obviously better than yesterday. This morning in practice there were a lot of positive signs. I could go fast on 30 laps old tyres so that was good. And then this afternoon with the help of Steve Martin, it was a confidence booster just by itself and the settings changes. It’s the best starting position for me for the whole year. There was some traffic during my fastest lap so I am sure we can go faster tomorrow.”

Randy Pagaud:This morning with old tyres I did 2′06.1 only three tenths from my qualification time of yesterday. I put a new front tyre in the beginning of the timed session, than a new rear tyre by mid-session when I started behind my team mate Markus. Immediately I did 2′05.6 two seconds behind the pole position. It’s very close and I am twentieth.”
