The three riders of the Team Garnier alpha Racing were in good positions in the beginning of the race, but after that there was not much luck for Markus Reiterberger, Beau Beaton et Randy Pagaud.
Davide Giugliano (Althea Racing Ducati) was the winner of the event in front of Danilo Petrucci (Barni Racing Team Ducati) and Lorenzo Zanetti (BMW Motorrad Italia Superstock). The race had to be stopped with a red flag and the results taken after the end of the tenth lap.
Markus Reiterberger did pretty well in the early laps, but a rider a little bit too aggressive crashed in front of him and it took him a long time to go around him. He avoided him but lost some precious time. He restarted well, but almost crashed and could only finish 19th.
Beau Beaton started well also but lost his balance once, went to the grass and lost a few positions. His knee cap that was broken not so long ago did not help in the last laps. He still finished in 21st position.
Randy Pagaud was stuck for a while behind some slower riders. He passed them carefully and finished 23rd.
Markus Reiterberger: “I had a good start. I was in 16th position. But a rider crashed in front of me and I had to go a long way around and I was in 15th position. The lap times were OK and I was quite happy. Later on, I had a big high side and went to the grass, so it was finished. I am looking to Aragon.”
Beau Beaton: “It was good. We got a really good start. I went into turn three and got shut down a little bit. I lost a couple of places. After that there was a good pack with Markus setting a good pace. I was happy with that. I made a small mistake, coming into the straight, rode off the track and nearly high sided. I came back on about 25th. I finished 21st and I know that with a better fitness we can work from here.”
Randy Pagaud: “I had a rather good start, but here in Misano you have a lot of contacts in the first corners. I could not follow my Australian team mate and his group. I had in front of me three slower riders and it took me some time to pass them carefully. After that I did a good race, thanks to my team, we’ll do better next time.”
